Fall 2011

Halloween is always fun. Josh-Optimus Prime, Emily-Mulan, Bryce-Obi-wan Kenobi, Erin-Rapunzel.

After the ward trunk or treat and Trick or Treating we had lots of candy we decided to preserve some for later. Here are the eight jars we have sealed for later.

Rachel- puppy

Josh has earned the highest award in cubscoouts-the arrow of light. Here he is being welcomed into the 11 year old scouts. He will turn eleven in January and so they had his bridging now. He still attends Weeblos with Ethan as his leader until he is eleven.

Can you find Emily? She played on the soccer Firefly team this year. I will have to post a better picture later when I can find one.

Fall Track off 2011

We sure love it when the kids go off track. This is our first year on D track. We decided to head to Utah to catch a BYU football game. It was fun to visit with family. One morning we went to the BYU Homecoming parade with Charley and his boys. Rachel was bundled up nice and snug. The football game started at 8:15 PM. We all bundled up real good and enjoyed ourselves. Two of the kids fell asleep during the game.

On one of Ethan's fridays off we went to Apple Hill. We always love the carmel apples.

Thompsons

Josh

Josh is now 10. Since his birthday was on Sunday we celebrated it at home with cake and presents. Then on Friday he took three of his friends miniature golfing and then they played lazer tag. Josh was Joseph for the church nativity and for our own nativity on Christmas Eve.

Emily

December was a busy month for Emily. She turned 8 and was baptized by her dad. She also had a birthday party with two of her friends. She was a shepard in the nativity at church. (Josh was Joseph, and Bryce was a wiseman.)

Bryce

Bryce's loves to dress up. In any given day he transforms from BYU football player, to Jedi to Darth Vader. Recently he asked if he could buy Josh and Emily a birthday present so he bought Josh and himself a moustache out of the vending machines. Erin bought Emily an eraser.

Erin

Erin loves playing with all her siblings. Bryce has dressed her up as Santa using a plastic store bag for a beard and has turned her into a mummy with toilet paper and a cardboard box. She loves Emily's barbies and always wants her turn to hold Rachel. Recently she drew on her face with white board markers. (Amazingly they came off with just water.)

Rachel

Rachel has grown so big over the first six weeks. She has turned into a very happy baby except during the evening. All the kids love to hold her. She enjoyed her first airplane ride as she flew to Utah with Ethan and Becki. Fortunately it was a short flight and she slept the whole time.

Summer 2010

We have enjoyed two family vacations this summer. In July we traveled to Oregon for the annual Thompson family reunion.

We hiked up to Lava Butte.
We hiked in some lava tubes. Erin was a trooper. She walked all the way in and almost all the way out.

It was dark in the cave and chilly.

Bryce, Josh and Emily were also great sports. I think we ended up hiking two miles.

In August we went to Utah for the first Irving reunion.

Uncle Cliff got us a boat and we spent a day at the lake.

oops, here is the same picture twice. Since I don't know how to get rid of it you will just have to see it twice.

Erin loved to pretend to sing in the microphone. She is going to be a show stopper someday.

We enjoyed walking around Temple square. We haven't been here for about four years. We will have to come back again soon.

Thompson family reunion

Over the 4th of July weekend, the Thompson family gathered in California for a reunion. Before we headed for Nevada City, CA, we went to the Sacramento Temple and did a sealing session. Afterward, we headed to our reunion site. During the reunion, we played baseball, visited Coloma, Ca where gold was first discovered, played baseball, visited a gold mine, played baseball, visited, played water baseball, had a family skit night and played baseball. During the four days we also visited and just relaxed. Fortunately we could see fireworks from the reunion site driveway since it was set on a hill. It was great to get away and spend time with family.

A's baseball game

Before the Thompson family reunion, we attended an A's baseball game. Ethan's 3 brothers and their families attended. Fortunately the A's won!
